The HAMKit VMAC PiHat is easily software controlled from the Raspberry Pi using your preferred coding language such as Python.

All software provided is Open Source in order to encourage people to develop and help others with ideas, inspiration and applications. Example code, and other files, can be found in our Downloads area.

In essence, I2C is used for the FMS6501A Matrix (and EEPROM), and the rest are using the standard GPIO.

Connections from the HAMKit VMAC PiHat to the Raspberry Pi are made via the Pi’s GPIO 40 pin header.
